Ashley Heath releases first album "A Different Stream" Friday May 27th, 2016 at The Asheville Music Hall

July 6, 2016

What an incredible year it has been! I started working on my first album in November 2014 after meeting  Producer Ryan Burns at The Brown Bag Singer/Songwriter Competition at The One Stop Deli in downtown Asheville, NC in the spring. I made it into the finals of the competition and they asked me before playing "What do you want to do with you life?" I said "make an album" and Ryan thought.... hrmmm... I wanna try out this producing thing so we teamed up after to talk about songs, writing, pre-production, and more. We also teamed up with Engineer Clay Miller who works at Echo Mountain Recording Studios who did an incredible job recording, mixing, and editing the album along with Ryan!

The album was originally recorded with the idea of it being a duet with my childhood friend Kevin Reese but the day that the masters came back from the recordings, Kevin quit the band. Sad times indeed. That left me trying to work my first record that was recorded with a duet business standpoint to getting the album out on my own. I had set up studio times, photography, paid for a lot of the work that was done, and even had designs set for the previous "The Sweet Treats" band. With not much time and not a lot of communication with Kevin, things changed quickly and my weekly visits with him to Hot Springs to write songs, play music, and childhood friendship came to an end.

I turned the album into an "Ashley Heath" album and decided I wouldn't let this set back prohibit getting the album out into the world. I was already singing back up vocals in an amazing band from Asheville, NC named Raising Caine so it made sense to use there backing band for the CD Release Show. We played one show as a band out at 185 King Street in Brevard, NC before the CD Release show and when it was time to rock out at The Asheville Music Hall, people hadn't seen me in a band of my own since I graduated college. People were expecting the songs to be an acoustic duet and we came out with a four piece rock'n roll group and some people were like "WHERE DID THISSSSSS COME FROM???""""

I have been so lucky on my road of pursuing my dreams and there is so much to say. It was been an amazing journey and it has been very hard at times.

I am thankful to present the world with my very first album "A Different Stream". I have many many many many people who have believed in me and my music and never gave up! I couldn't thank you more!!

You all have made my dreams come true!
